and a famous poet hangs with the bikers.

As a rule, Biker Poet folk are a wild lot. That said, every once in a while a Highway Poet does something even more unexpected - and more impressive - than usual. In this case, it's Jose (JoeGo) Gouveia, that's him, wearing the [ gulp ] tie, above, who was awarded his Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Poetry from New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, after an intense investment of two-years in the MFA program.
Gouveia, who resides on Cape Cod, has been a member of the Highway Poets Motor Cycle Club for many years. Members of the club traveled from from as far away as Upstate New York to attend the ceremony, which took place at the college on January 12, 2008.
